In recognition of Diskeeper's 19-year leadership position as the number one automatic defragmenter in both the Windows® and OpenVMS® markets, Executive Software has now focused that leadership by becoming Diskeeper Corporation. Diskeeper Corporation will alleviate disk fragmentation on a much broader scale than ever before. This will be accomplished by our continuing dedication and focus on automating solutions for increased production, and an expansion in our Research and Development (R&D) staff.

Diskeeper Corporation, formerly Executive Software, was founded on July 22, 1981. During this time, the company has logged many technical achievements in the VMS and Windows industries with products like Diskeeper. For 19 years the Diskeeper automatic defragmenter has lead the industry in defragmentation technology - a fact which is confirmed by the 231 awards received by Diskeeper in 2004 alone. Originally released in 1986 for the Digital VMS platform, Diskeeper became the first and original "Set It and Forget It"® automatic disk defragmenter for the enterprise. Introduced with the release of Windows NTR v 3.51, Diskeeper became the first-ever Microsoft® Certified defragmenter on November 22, 1999.
